FDCI with joint effort of Wills Lifestyle unveiled The Grand Finale Designer : Rohit Bal on October 6,2009 at Wills Lifestyle Store in South Ex, New Delhi. This is the second time Rohit has an opportunity to showcase his collection in The Grand Finale.

Rohit Bal: a name does not need any introduction in the designer arena. This designer known for creating collection from breathable fabrics especially linen, has created an epitome in fashion industry. Linen is considered to be the luxurious and costly fabric among others. Moreover, public will get designer garments designed by Rohit Bal which would be available across the Wills Lifestyle stores. But I’m not sure, whether these garments would be in budget of common customer or not.

Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI added, “We are delighted to have Rohit Bal as the Wills Lifestyle Grand Finale designer at the upcoming edition of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week. Rohit has aptly been christened by Time magazine as the Master of Fabric and Fantasy. Style is his mantra and he is known for his sophisticated cuts and fabrics. Rohit is one of the most sought after designers in India and his creative mind gives a true bent of spirit in his work as well. WIFW SS 2010 will end on a high note with his selection as the Grand Finale designer.”

The collection is scripted as Yasasy. This is inspired from the beauty of Indian cultural heritage. The designer has taken different elements from Golden Peacock to create this collection. This is known to everyone that peacock is the India’s national bird. The dropping feathers and dance of peacock are considered to bring prosperity and happiness to the country.

The preview of the grand Finale also exhibited some of the key colors like Indian Red, gold and Bordeaux. Talking about silhouette at this stage would be little bit confusing. But when you look at the collection, the glimpse will give you an idea about what are the major silhouettes in his collection. Baby doll top, Anarkali suit, bolero style choga, churidar pants are some of the silhouettes from the Rohit’s collection. Mulmul, chanderi, Muslins, velvets and brocades are the important fabrics which have been ornamented by some mughal art and embroidery techniques. Indian and mughal art have been used to craft these garments in a whimsical manner.
